| So why am I doing all this traveling? Well you
can find out more about my current short term plans here,
but here's the…
… to travel around the
world on the ground in one unbroken line without flying. Oh,
and only using public transport too.
This isn't really possible to do
in one go, well, not with my bank balance anyhow. I've got a while
to spend doing it though.
So far, I can trace a line on the
ground from the Arctic circle in Iceland all the way to the bottom
of the Malaysian peninsula (there's a wee gap though between Poland
and Moscow which I still have to though). That's about 40,000km
of travel.
Then there's a gap between that
and Australia - which I was hoping to cover when I left Oz by island
hopping through Indonesia to Singapore, but the area was a bit unstable
at that time.
The biggest challenge will will
be to get from Asia to the Americas - one can drive across the Baring
Strait at one point of the year - but it's v. expensive so that
stage will have to wait for a couple of years!
