Become an adult? Get a proper job? Get a mortgage? No thanks! Well, maybe one day… but not yet. So here's where I've been gallivanting around for the last few years.

You can either select country from the below list or the map at the bottom of the page. These pages form part of the photography section of the site.

Blue countries have photos and stuff, with more content being continually added - it just takes time to scan and photoshop stuff.

Iceland
This was my big trip I did in the summer of 1999. There's no details on the site about these countries yet, although the photos I go from Iceland are pretty damn special.
Faeroe islands
Shetland
Orkney
Scotland
Outer Hebrides

Tanzania
In the summer of 1998 I worked for several months with an Aid organisation in Zambia. I helped build a bridge over the river Llangwa, and managed to avoid deadly tropical diseases that melt the flesh. Bonus.
Zambia
Zimbabwe

Europe
1997 saw my first outing into travel, visiting 18 countries in both east and west Europe. My photography at this time was very much in its infancy and so I won't be putting many of those on the website. On my extensive list of things to do, adding detail to the site about europe is a low priority I'm afraid. Give it a few years.

World Map:

Areas in red are where I've backpacked too. As you can read above, I haven't added any details to the site about the Europe and African regions. Regions within Russia and Asia-Pacific have photos, maps and other stuff though. Just click on those areas to see more.

Russia Australia New Zealand Asia South Pacific Alaska Canada

So why am I doing all this traveling? Well you can find out more about my current short term plans here, but here's the…

The Whopping Big
Overall Plan

to travel around the world on the ground in one unbroken line without flying. Oh, and only using public transport too.

This isn't really possible to do in one go, well, not with my bank balance anyhow. I've got a while to spend doing it though.

So far, I can trace a line on the ground from the Arctic circle in Iceland all the way to the bottom of the Malaysian peninsula (there's a wee gap though between Poland and Moscow which I still have to though). That's about 40,000km of travel.

Then there's a gap between that and Australia - which I was hoping to cover when I left Oz by island hopping through Indonesia to Singapore, but the area was a bit unstable at that time.

The biggest challenge will will be to get from Asia to the Americas - one can drive across the Baring Strait at one point of the year - but it's v. expensive so that stage will have to wait for a couple of years!
